Located where people already do their everyday shopping, IKEA Shop is compact and close by. A convenient store for quick visits when customers’ home needs can’t wait. Smaller in size, bigger on now.

Each IKEA Shop offers a curated selection of home furnishing essentials, seasonal favourites, inspiration, planning support, and food.​ With plans for many new locations around the corner, it’s a smaller format with a big future.

A location to call home

For our expansion with IKEA Shop, we’re interested in prominent, accessible locations with strong market potential – from retail parks and shopping centres to urban destinations and developments.

While we assess each opportunity individually based on location, market potential, configuration, access and technical conditions, we’re typically looking for spaces around 2,000-5,000 m² GLA, on one floor.

    IKEA Shop is a new, compact store format (2,000–5,000 m²) designed for convenient, local shopping. Each store offers a focused range of home furnishing essentials, seasonal products, room inspiration, planning support and food.

    The format works alongside larger IKEA stores and digital services, giving customers another way to shop, plan and access the wider IKEA range.

  • What types of properties are suitable for an IKEA Shop?

    We’re considering opportunities in retail parks, shopping centres, urban areas and new developments. Suitable properties are likely to offer:

    • Strong local or regional customer potential
    • Good visibility and convenient access
    • Around 2,000–5,000 m² GLA
    • A single-floor layout
    • Convenient parking, where relevant
    • Suitable arrangements for deliveries and operational access

    Each proposal is reviewed individually, taking account of the market, location, layout, access and technical conditions.
